Phyllis Wurster Neumann

Age 89, died June 6, 2014. She was born 1/4/25 in Milwaukee to Sadie and Arthur Wurster. She married DeWayne Neumann on 6/23/52. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in education at UW-Madison and received her doctorate in education at UW-Milwaukee and taught in Milwaukee Public Schools for many years. She was an incredible teacher and mother. She loved her Bay View United Methodist Church community, traveling, gardening, learning about people and enjoyed new experiences right up until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband DeWayne on 12/22/05, her parents, and her sisters Hazel Hensel and Emiline Steldt. Survivors include her children Mark and Lori (Jim Sinclair) Neumann, her grandchildren Haley Rose Neumann and Michael and Leah Sinclair, her special nephew Karl, other relatives and her many friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at Bay View United Methodist Church, 2772 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. on August 13, 2014 at 11 am, with a visitation at 9 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bay View United Methodist Church would be welcomed. Thank you to Zilber Hospice, where her last days were as pleasant as possible.
