Phyllis Gill (Brown), age 70, of Brooksville, FL (formerly Kalamazoo/Coldwater) passed away on Saturday August 22, 2015 after a 10 month battle with cancer. Phyllis was born in Kalamazoo and attended St Joseph Elementary, Nazareth Academy, St. Augustine HS and Kalamazoo Central. She was a graduate of Ferris State University where she became a Dental Assistant. She played piano and was a soprano, singing at family weddings. She was a talented artist and applied her skills to interior design. She was a jack of all trades designing her homes and actively involved in construction. She was a volunteer poll worker in her adopted home of Coldwater, where she lived for many years, splitting time with her Florida residence. She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Bernice Brown of Kalamazoo. She is survived by her husband Bob Gill (Brooksville), daughter Denise Gill (Brooksville) and brother Jeff Brown (Richland), sister in law Sandy Game, nephews Sean (Battle Creek), Jesse (Ann Arbor) and niece Hannah (Oklahoma City) Game-Brown; and brother in law Don Gill and family (Texas). Private services are being held in Florida and later this month in Coldwater. Phyllis was energetic, kind, caring, and loving. She filled the world with her laughter and smile and brought joy to all of those around her. She was an inspiration as she fought her battle with cancer until her passing.
