Peggy L. Martin, age 90, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Woods of Caledonia. She was born Racine, March 9, 1927, daughter of the late George and Ruth (Nee: Halverson) Doolin.

Peggy was a graduate of Park High School “Class of 1945”. Furthering her education she graduated from Ripon College where she met her husband, Robert B. Martin, and on December 30, 1950 they were united in marriage. He preceded her in death, November 25, 2011. Peggy began working at the Racine Public Library in June of 1949 and was employed there for sixty-one years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and served as President of the Junior League of Racine and Jaycees. Peggy loved volunteering, reading, and baking. More than anything she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Jeffrey (Mary) Martin of Delafield, James (Kathleen) Martin, Jane Fox, all of Racine; her five grandchildren, Erin (Andy) Warmus, Andrew Martin, Bryce Martin, Matthew (Karie) Martin, Patrick Martin (fiancee, Michelle Drott); her great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Callan Warmus, Kaden Nygren, and Ella Martin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a special friend, Norma Deck and her favorite son-in-law, Gary Fox.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 9, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Travis DuPriest officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to the Racine Public Library or St. Luke’s Episcopal Church have been suggested by the family.

A very special thank you to her caregivers at Lakeshore Manor, Woods of Caledonia, and Grace Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
