Pauline Mae Branch, age 86, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away peacefully Thursday September 22, 2016 at Kairos Dwelling surrounded by family. She was born January 8, 1930 in Kalamazoo to Wayne and Rheta Sweet. Pauline graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1948. She was a rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and the Kalamazoo Gazette. Pauline was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1947. Pauline was a past Commander of the Kalamazoo Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary , a very active member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees; past board member of both What So Ever Free Bed Association of Kalamazoo and Church Women United of Kalamazoo. Pauline was recognized most "Valiant Woman" from Church Women United. She enjoyed her summers with family at Sandy Pines and most recently at Scott Lake Campground. Pauline enjoyed Pontoon boat rides and loved playing Bingo at Sandy Pines, the Branch Family Reunions and with her grandchildren. Pauline loved to be surrounded by her family. She was married to Robert H. Branch who preceded her in death in 1983. Pauline is survived by her sister Joyce Cleasby of Kalamazoo, sister in law Helen Waterhouse of Portage, her daughter Pamela Carpenter of Mattawan, a son Robert Branch of Kalamazoo, 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Kenneth Sweet and son Rod Williams. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service for Pauline will be held on Saturday October 1, 2016 at 10 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 504 S. Westnedge in downtown Kalamazoo with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Everest Cemetery with a celebration of Life luncheon back at Trinity. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary of Kalamazoo or Kairos Dwelling. Avink Funeral Home
