64, of Decatur, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. The family will receive guests from 4-6pm, Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M51, Decatur. A memorial service will be held at 1pm, Monday, October 28, 2019 at Newell Chapel, with Pastor Katie Hartwell officiating. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Karen (Dahms) Makay, whom he married September 25, 1982 in Decatur; his daughters, Katelin Makay of Decatur, and Margaret (Dr. Timothy) Joseph; his grandsons, Liam and Wyatt Joseph of Rochester, MN.; and his siblings, Loretta (Jim) Doroh, Tony (Nira) Makay, and Geri (Rob) Edwards and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
