Life Story / Obituary

Patricia Ann Koutz (Whalen, Nash) departed this life on December 15, 2015, just weeks short of her 92nd birthday. She is preceded in death by son: Michael Nash, JR 'Bob' Anthony, Gerald Koutz and Arleigh 'Bud' Nash, her siblings Bridget Spedoski, Hugh Whalen, Dan Whalen, Marcella Burns, Elizabeth Peet Mursch, Gertrude Lonnee, and Michael Whalen. She leaves behind her daughter Suzanne Anthony (Mark), daughter-in-law Virginia Nash, grandchildren David Nash (Nichole), Brian Nash (Catherine), Christopher Anthony (Alia), and Kelly Mikail (Carl), along with great grandchildren Gabriella, Trinity, Liam, Emma, Piper Nash, and Declan Mikail.

Pat was the youngest of 8 children born to her Irish parents, Dan and Annie Whalen in 1924 on their farm near Paris, MI. She attended high school and resided in Big Rapids until moving to her beloved cottage on Mecosta Lake, where her beautiful flowers and birds gave hours of enjoy-ment. She later spent winters in Florida and most recently lived at Clark Retirement Community in Grand Rapids. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother and wonderful friend to many with her quick sense of humor and caring ways. We are sure her Irish eyes are smiling down upon us all. A Mass celebrating her life will be held in the chapel at Clark Retire-ment Community,1551 Franklin St, SE, Grand Rapids at 10:30am on Friday, December 18. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, Paris, MI (mailing address 831 S. Chestnut St, Reed City, MI 49677). Please visit www.lifestorynet.com to archive a memory, photo, or sign the guestbook online.
