Patricia Jager

Patricia Ann Jager, affectionately known as Patti, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born on November 7, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Patti was the daughter of Charles and Mary Ann (Hauger) Gallagher.

Patti built a successful and fulfilling career as a legal secretary at Miller Canfield and later earned her Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Kalamazoo Valley Community College, achieving a lifelong personal goal of hers. Her dedication and professionalism left a lasting impression on her colleagues and those she worked with throughout her career. Outside of her career, Patti embraced life fully. She loved hosting parties, shopping "retail therapy," and traveling whenever she had the opportunity.

Above all else, Patti's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Hosting festive gatherings, especially at Christmas, brought her great joy. She cherished the opportunity to bring loved ones together, prepare meals, give thoughtful gifts, and create lasting memories. She also had a special love for shopping. During her sessions of "retail therapy" she enjoyed finding just the right gift or thoughtful surprise to brighten someone's day. She had a true gift of making others feel seen, loved, and cared for.

Patti had an infectious smile that could light up any room. She never met a stranger and was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident in everything she did. They were truly the light of her life. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and a beautiful reminder to focus on the good in others and the things that bring us all together.

She is survived by her loving husband Paul Jager, her daughters Jennifer (Mark) Rankin and Natalie (Joe) Sherhart; her grandchildren Leigh-Ann (Jim) Smits, Travis (Tess) Sherhart, Matthew Rankin, and Lauren (Josh) Passolt; and her great-grandchildren Sophia, Savannah, Isabella, Emma, Brecken, Cambree, and Hunter. She is also lovingly remembered by her dear friends Ruth and Stu strayer. Additionally, she is survived by her brother-in-law John Booth and the father of her children, George Hunter. Patti was predeceased by her parents, sister Sharon Booth and brother and sister-in-law Charles and JoAnn Gallagher.

Memorial services for Patti will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Home 3926 S. 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009 on April 16, 2026, with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. and the service to follow at 3:00 p.m.
