Patricia Bauer

Patricia Marie Bauer, 69, of Mattawan, MI, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in Kalamazoo with her devoted husband by her side. She was born on October 5, 1950 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Donald and Helen (Manders) Smith. Pat graduated from Michigan State University with her bachelors degree. She was director of the Ohio Chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters. She then went on to work at KRESA and in homes with children. She loved her job and working with the kids. On July 3, 1982 Patricia was married to John Bauer. She enjoyed time with her friends at concerts in Kalamazoo. Pat was a multifaceted talent; She enjoyed sailing, raising sheep, and crafting. She was an artist and an avid reader. Pat was never afraid to try anything, if you name it Pat could probably do it. Surviving is her husband of 38 years, John Thomas Bauer, Son, Will Bauer, Sister, Marilyn Curtis, Brother, Dave (Joan) Smith, Brother-in-laws, Jeffry and James (Carol) Bauer. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Smith. Friends will be received at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan, on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 5:00PM-8:00PM. Services will be held at Adams Funeral Home, on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 10:00AM with Rev. Tim Gunderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Mattawan, MI.
