Patricia A. Auchter (5/27/1930 – 12/13/2016)

Patricia Ann Auchter (Geraghty) entered into her eternal rest on December 13, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Racine, WI on May 27th, 1930 to Ralph and Bertha Geraghty (Nee: Cote). Pat graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1948 and soon met the love of her life, Raymond Auchter. They were joined in marriage in Racine on August 4, 1951. She worked and volunteered for many causes but raising her family was her true passion in life.

Pat was known as a kind, generous and gentle soul who was an endless source of comfort for all who knew her. She had a strong devotion to her family and church. Caring for her ailing mother, helping children with homework, attending their sporting events, taking grandchildren to the zoo, preparing outstanding meals, cleaning up after everybody, and being a faithful prayer warrior for her family occupied much of her time. Her famous chocolate chip cookies, frozen Oreo cookie dessert, and other sweet delights were savored around the neighborhood and beyond. She always found time for a game of rummy or “Go Fish” with the family and enjoyed getting together with her bridge club and many friends. Her tolerance for many raucous camping trips when her boys were young helped instill in them a love for the great outdoors.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband Raymond and her brother John Geraghty. She is survived by her five children, David, Peter, Joseph (Nancy), John (Amy) and Maude (Dave) Mau; her sister Margaret (Peggy) Geraghty; her 10 grandchildren, Rachel, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Neal, Mary, Kathryn, Allison, Adam, Sydney, Abigail; 4 great-grandchildren, Austin, Jacob, Dax and Adrian were very dear to her; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Geraghty; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated, Friday, December 23, 2016, 11:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., Racine, WI with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Hwy 31, Racine. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Wisconsin would be appreciated.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the memory care unit at Oak Park Place in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Allay Hospice for their care and support.
