On September 13, 2015, Patricia A. Spang, age 62, was reunited in Heaven with her parents, Gilbert and Elaine Spang and her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Baxter and Diva. Patty was born on June 6, 1953, daughter of the late Gilbert and Elaine (nee: Proctor) Spang.

She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School in Racine and attended the UW-Milwaukee. She was a social worker for Racine County investigating welfare fraud, eventually becoming a Supervisor. Much to her brother’s dismay, Patty was a Chicago Bears fan which made for a huge family rivalry whenever the Bears played the Packers. Patty was an avid reader and loved to travel. Above all, Patty was courageous. She was kind. She was the first one to help others and the last to accept help. She spent many years caring for her great aunt Marie Wilkie and her mom. She was a volunteer at the Racine Public Library. She lived life to the fullest. Her family and friends were her world. Patty loved to cook especially for her family on the holidays. She always cooked way too much food to make sure her guests had leftovers to take home.

Patty will be dearly missed by her brother, Michael (Karen); nephews, Matthew, Zachary and Eric (Jessica) and her niece Kristen. She was great aunt to Cameron, Nola and Ariana. She is further survived by many cousins and friends, friends that were more than friends to her, they were family as well. Patty is also survived by her furry family member, Ollie.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St, on Friday September 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to the Kidney Transplant Center, Froedtert Hospital, 9200 W. Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53226 or Ronald McDonald House, 8948 Watertown Plank Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53226 have been suggested.

Rest in Peace Patty. We love you.
