Orville August Horn, 94 of Traverse City, died February 9, 2015.

He was born on March 25, 1920 in Leelanau County to Karl and Alma (Anderson) Horn.

In his early years Orville was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Orville was a prominent Cherry Farmer in Leelanau County and previously worked for the Grand Traverse Casket Company and retired from Cone Drive.

Orville was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage. He was a great mushroom hunter and a member of the Traverse City Fraternal Order of Eagles #383.

Orville is survived by his siblings, Alfreda (Urban) LaCross of Lake Leelanau and Gilbert Horn of Grand Rapids; son, Ron Bohn and son-in-law, Denny Strong both of Traverse City; grandchildren, Lori (Dan) Potts, Scott Strong and Jeff Strong; 6 great-grandchildren and 14 nieces and nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beatrice Horn who died on January 6, 2009; his brothers, Melvin, Walt, William, Carl and Albert Horn; sister, Nettie Horn; daughter, Patricia Strong, who died on January 6, 2012.

Cremation has taken place. Burial will be with his wife, Beatrice. Graveside services has been chaned to 11am, Friday, May 29, 2015 at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
