Orissa Dawn Forman, 93 of Escanaba died, Saturday, May 16, 2015.

She was born on October 17, 1921 in Houghton Lake the daughter of Howard Raymond and Evelyn Francis (Petersen) Knapp.

She was raised in Houghton Lake and Roscommon area. She graduated from Gerrish Higgins High School. She graduated as the Salutatorian out of 28 classmates. She also was a cheerleader during high school years.

Orissa was a member of the Houghton Lake Eastern Star; where she held the positions of Associate Matron and Worthy Matron. She enjoyed playing cards with her Bridge-A-Roma card group. She was active in All Saints Episcopal Church in Houghton Lake and St. Andrews By the Sea in Destin, Florida. She worked with her father at the Roscommon Courthouse and with her husband in their insurance business.

Orissa is survived by her children, Bruce (Lee) Forman of Houghton Lake, Marcia (Karl) Franz of Quilcene, Washington and Susan (Jim) Cousineau of Escanaba; grandchildren, Dan, Rick, David, Jason, Christopher, Jesse, Matt, Amy, Jill, Joanna and Joy, great-grandchildren, Orissa, Jacob, Mason, Noah, Addilyn, Ella, Chase, Eli, Isabella, Scarlett, Drew, Avery, Caydence and Vivian and sister, Lois Dooley of Chicago.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, Harold George Forman and siblings, Lawton Knapp, Thelma Sopsoak and Dan Knapp.

Private family services were held. Burial will be in the Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
