Pakiela, Oletta J. 3/4/1942 - 11/22/2021 Parchment Age 79, went to meet her Lord and Savior on November 22, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born in Kalamazoo on March 4, 1942, the daughter of the late Clarence and Cona (Henderson) Suttles. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and went on to study at KVCC and Davenport College. Oletta was kind, gentle and loving. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and always found a way to be positive. She had a gracious and giving heart and her generosity was always felt by those around her. Oletta was genuine in spirit and believed in keeping her promises to others. She worked hard to provide a happy home for her family and all were made to feel welcome. When able she took the opportunity to travel and enjoyed going to North Carolina and to Gulf Shores. Above all Oletta loved spending time with her family and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. On November 26, 1960, she married the love of her life, Robert L. Pakiela who survives. She is also survived by three children, Robert (Ronda) Pakiela, Kathy (Michael) Southworth, John Pakiela; three grandchildren, Justin Pakiela, Lani (Zach) Dinse, Kylie (Shaun) Harmon; one great-grandchild, Evelyn Rose Harmon; special cousins, Evelyn (Anderson) Sutton, Mary (Ed) Finny, Marie (Wade) Kerpatrick, Georgia (John) Allen, all of North Carolina. She was also preceded in passing by a grandson, Tyler Southworth. In accordance with her wish a private family memorial was held with Pastor Kevin Baker officiating; cremation will take place and a public celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
