Nelis Bade

Nelis Bade, age 94, of Holland, passed away, Friday September 9, 2016 in the Inn at Freedom Village.

He was born in Holland on November 4, 1921. Nelis was a lifelong resident of the Holland area who led a very active and productive life. He retired after many years as a conscientious stockbroker.

Nelis served in the United States Navy Air Corp during WWII, stationed in Guam.

He was also a member of Hope Church.

Nelis was preceded in death by a loving son-in-law, Steven Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne of 69 years; devoted father to his children, Dr. Craig and Amy Bade, Tom and Donna Bade, and Dr. Shelly Bade; 4 grandchildren, Lindsey Bade, Thomas Bade, Gavin Bade, and Connor Bade; brother-in-law, Henry and Cindy Mass; nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral and committal services will be 11 am, Tuesday, September 13, at Hope Church, 77 West 11th Street, with the Rev’s. Gordon Wiersma and Jill Russell officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Monday, September 12, at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Ave.
