82, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away November 22, 2017. Born June 4th, 1935 to Arthur and Eva Papworth, Nancy grew up in Flint, Michigan. She attended Flint Northern High School, where she met the love of her life, James E MacVicar. The two went on to attend the University of Michigan. While in Ann Arbor, Nancy joined the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, and became a lifelong Wolverine. Nancy and Jim married on June 18, 1955 and shared 62 wonderful years together. For most of her life, Nancy lived on Gull Lake in Richland, Michigan, where she co-founded Travel Unlimited Travel Agency. As a dedicated member of the Service Club of Kalamazoo (Junior League) and the Pretty Lake Camp Board of Directors, she served the Southwest Michigan community for many years. After retiring to Florida, Nancy enjoyed her membership with the Key Royale Club, as well as several book and bridge groups on Anna Maria Island. Throughout her life, Nancy loved reading, quilting, swimming, traveling, and entertaining. The MacVicar home was well known for its frequent and generous hospitality. Above all, Nancy cherished the moments she shared with her family and friends. Her immediate family includes: her loving husband Jim, her children Neil (Sandy) of Holt, MI, David (Kay) of Seattle, WA, and Laura (Clif) of Mequon, WI. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Russell Papworth of Vicksburg, MI and her seven grandchildren: James and Neil (Alex) MacVicar, Matthew and Louis MacVicar, Amanda and Grant Hooks, and Caleb Fisher. Nancy was a certified Stephens Minister, She had a deep and abiding relationship with Christ. She was a devout member of the Gull Lake Area Community Church and Roser Memorial Community Church. Nancy also enjoyed her association with the International Council of Community Churches, where she served as moderator of the Jordan Scholarship Committee for several years. Though Nancy will be dearly missed, we will cherish the memories of 4th of July weekends at Gull Lake, the family reunions, as well as the effortless and loving smile she gave when she caught you "stealing the deal". A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Roser Memorial Church, Anna Maria Island, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
