Myrabel A. “Myra” Parmelee

Plainwell

Myrabel Anne Parmelee entered her heavenly home on April 7, 2016. Myra was born December 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Charles Raymond and Golda Newman from Otsego. She had retired from the former James River Corp. in 1987 where she served for 23 years in Traffic and Sales. Myra was a member of First Baptist Church in Otsego as well as a lifetime member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. A graduate of Otsego High School, she met and married Bernard (Bernie) Parmelee in May, 1946 who preceded her in death in 1992. Also preceding her in death were 5 sisters Winona, Louise, Idalaine, Iva, Lois and a brother Carl. Myra loved to sing and dance, smile, and share a laugh with those around her. She enjoyed bowling, arts and crafts, and knitted and supplied many pairs of baby slippers to the Alternatives Pregnancy Care Center in Kalamazoo. Surviving is her daughter Sherry and son-in-law Raymond Bradshaw of Plainwell and her grandson Ray Jr. Also surviving is her brother Lewis Newman of Arizona, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service at the church starting at 10AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Otsego, 247 East Allegan Street, with Pastor Merlyn Jones officiating. Burial at Hillside Cemetery.
