Murlyn Vollink

Murlyn Fern (Smith)(Kobernik)Vollink, age 80, of Saugatuck passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Spectrum Health – Butterworth.

Murlyn was an active member of First Congregational Church for many years. She was a secretary for various businesses including the James Brandess Gallery and Castle Park Resort Community. Murlyn liked to travel to other parts of the country and evangelize, connecting with the needy. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, genealogy and planning holidays with the desire of keeping her family together. She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Kobernik and second husband Gilbert Vollink.

She is survived by her son: Alan and Cheryl Kobernik of Frankfort; grandchildren: Emily Kobernik and Eric Kobernik; 4 step-children; many step-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Carl Kobernik of Grand Haven; cousins.

We can’t always choose the music life plays for us but we can choose how we dance to it.

A memorial service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 29, 2015 at First Congregational Church, 296 Hoffman Street in Saugatuck. Reverend Bruce Vander Kolk will be officiating. Cremation has taken place.
