Muriel Isabella Stella Mueller, age 90, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Muriel had been a resident of Lakeshore Manor and a longtime resident in Racine. She was born in London, England, May 30, 1926, the 13th child of the late Edward and Emma (Nee: Watts) Yarrow.

Muriel was the war bride of Robert W. Mueller who was serving in the U.S. Army Airforce during WWII. They married August 2, 1945 in Edmonton, London, England and made their home in Racine raising four children. Muriel and Bob created many happy memories together; and especially enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. Muriel proudly became a US citizen while still continuing her English traditions and heritage. She enjoyed her cups of hot tea, eating and sharing her sweets, lighting her plum pudding and roasting chestnuts at Christmas.

In her earlier days, she taught ballroom dancing, enjoyed making crafts for fairs, shopping and engaging in good conversation. Even though Muriel lived in the United States for 72 years, she proudly maintained her beautiful English accent. One of her favorite pastimes was collecting angels as she saw the beauty and comfort in knowing they were close by.

Muriel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert, her parents, Emma and Edward and her ten sisters and two brothers whom resided in England.

She will be dearly missed by her four children, Mary Jane (Alan) Svoboda of Racine, WI, Phyllis (Chris) Laundy of Mt. Horeb, WI, Robert Mueller of Mt. Horeb, WI, and Elizabeth (Timothy) Wheeler of Racine, WI; Five grandchildren, Wendi (Jesse) of Glendale, CA, Kim (Austin) of Staten Island, NY, Kevin (Andrea) of Greendale, WI, Michael of Stevens Point, WI and Joan (Kenny) of Mt. Horeb, WI; Four great grandchildren, Clara, Audrey, Benjamin and Jordy; and many relatives and friends here and abroad.

Muriel never believed in saying “goodbye.”

She would always end the conversation with a cheerful “Cheerio!”

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Thursday, October 6, 2016, 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lakeshore Manor 5th Floor and Ascension All Saints Hospice and hospital staff for their loving and compassionate care.
