Molly Grace Matthews, age 3, of Portage, MI Purple. Our little Princess loved purple. Anything PURPLE! Purple toys, purple clothes, purple juice! And now she plays in the folds of the royal purple robes of her Super Hero and best friend, Jesus. Our precious angel, Molly Grace went to Heaven early on Saturday morning, November 5, 2016 at the age of 3 years. She had been taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI where a valiant attempt was made to save her life. Our family wishes to thank all of the first responders, nurses, doctors, clergy and all those who stepped in to lend a hand, an ear or a prayer. Your kindness touched us in ways we can never comprehend. Now that Molly is in heaven, she has taught the Angels her favorite dance, "The Juicy Bootie", she is cloud hopping and giggling with her new friends and she is enfolded by a love that is so encompassing that we as humans can not begin to know its power. Molly Grace, the daughter of Ian J. and Kelly M. (Pallone) Matthews, was born in Newport News, VA on February 14, 2013 and moved to Kalamazoo in 2016. She was in Mr. Hill's class at Comstock North Elementary where she loved and smiled at everyone she came in contact with. Her little Brother Derek Paul, "De De" (16 months) was the love of her life and he misses his "Sissy" terribly. Other's surviving to cherish Molly's memory are her Paternal Grandparents, Paul (Kathy) Matthews of Scotts, MI, Maggie (Terry) James of St. Joseph, MI. Maternal Grandparents, Frank (Cathie) Pallone of Derby, CT., and Judy (Tim) Matthews of Wallingford, CT; Aunts, Meghan Matthews/God Mother of Portage and Rebecca (Doug) and Cousin Evie Dircks of Chicago, IL; Uncles, Mike/God Father (Laura) and Cousin Gigi Pallone of East Haven, CT. and Matt Sikkema of Kalamazoo, and an extended family too numerous to list. Molly's family will greet friends on Sunday, November 13, from 1:00 5:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home 9170 East D Avenue (M-89) Richland, MI. Services to celebrate Molly's life will be held at Noon on Monday, November 14, at the GraceSpring Bible Church, 8463 Gull Road, Richland 49083 with Pastor Rob Cook, officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Family and friends will return to the Church immediately following the committal service to continue Molly's life celebration for a time of fellowship and a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Molly's honor may be directed to the Michigan Special Olympics-Area 16, c/o Western Michigan University, 4024 Student Recreation Center, Kalamazoo, MI 49008.
