Miriam Brot

Died Friday afternoon November 22, 2019. Miriam was born January 3, 1925 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, a daughter of Samuel and Ida (Schwartz) Becker. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was an active member of Congregation of Moses. Miriam was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ben Brot on December 22, 1996; a sister and brother-in-law, Pearl (Solomon) Heytow; brother, David Becker; and a brother-in-law, Herbert Cane. She is survived by 2 children, Ronald (Linda) Brot of Los Angeles, CA and Gail Brot of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Izzy, Dimitri, Nicole Lowery, and Shadow; a great-grandchild, Eliza Lowery; a sister, Shirley Cane of Los Angeles, CA; special friends, Willie Williams and Dr. James Breneman both of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 1 o'clock Sunday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Interment will be in Jewish Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Congregation of Moses, Alzheimer's Association, or to the American Cancer Society of Kalamazoo.
