Miles D. Ribble, age 87, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at his residence The Woods of Caledonia. He was born December 9, 1929 in Erie, PA, son of the late Jeremiah George and Mildred Sarah (Nee: Folk) Ribble.

Miles proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed for thirty-two years at Tree Tool & Die Company in Racine, retiring in 1992. It was in Erie, PA where he started his lifelong passion for trains and belonged to the Rail Fans Club. His passion was watching trains at the Sturtevant Train Station. Miles was also a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching all sports. More than anything he was a devoted single father to his daughters, Joyce, Susan, Nancy, and Deborah. He will be dearly missed.

He is now in heaven with his father, mother, sisters, Lavern and Pat, Grandma Folk, Aunt Ruth Weissman, Uncle Lester and Aunt Beulah Folk and brother-in-law, Dick Gunnet. He is survived by his daughters, Joyce Marie Davis, Susan Ann Woodward, Nancy Ellen (Rick) Andersen, Deborah Jean (Bob) Frederiksen; granddaughter, Sarah Pacheco and great granddaughters, Destiny and Olivia; grandson, Michael (Sara) Andersen and great granddaughters, Emma and Chloe; granddaughter, Heather (Sean) Kras and great grandsons, Jacob, Colin and Lucas; granddaughter, Heidi (Alex) Hoefs and great granddaughter, Lilliana; sister, Jean Gunnet of York, PA and nieces Barbara Kelly and Joan Boyce and families; brother, Ronald (Cathy) Ribble and families of San Antonio, TX; other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services followed by military honors will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Chaplain Dean Van Brunt officiating. Private interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations to the Salvation Army have been suggested.

A special thank you to Robert Morris (The son he never had), Stephanie Dawdy and Jason Govednik for their friendship and the many shared hours watching trains with dad; Dr. Brady Welsh and Dr. James Tierney; and the staff at River Run Restaurant for their many years of kindness to our father.
