Mildred graduated from Nazareth College with a degree in Chemistry in 1943. After graduation Mildred worked for the Upjohn Co. in Kalamazoo, as well as taught at St. Joseph School, and worked for the government with FHA. Mildred's Catholic faith was very important to her. She served as a Eucharistic Minister with St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, a member of the choir at St. Monica's Catholic Church, and an oblate of St. Benedict of the Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City, Co. Mildred was also a lifetime member of the ladies' Auxiliary of the VFW. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, of 50 years; two daughters, Renee Marie and Marie Christine; and grandson Scott Randall. She is survived by her children and spouses; Donald II (Sue) of Austin, TX; Suzanne Loney (Lawrence) of Otsego, MI; Randall (Karen) of Conklin, MI; Richard (Kathy) of Port Charlotte, FL; Michelle Staber of Portage, MI. Mildred also has 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49024. The Mass will take place on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 11:30 am, with visitation one hour prior at 10:30 am. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kalamazoo.
