Mildred L. "Millie" Forrest, age 99, of Augusta, MI passed away on Sunday morning, October 22, 2017. She was born in Waterford, Connecticut on April 4, 1918, the daughter of Henry C. and Louise (Pray) Heron. Mildred is survived by four of her six children, Elaine (Ken) Blue of Augusta, Dan (Marlene) Snow of Battle Creek, Penny (Mike) Mario of Battle Creek and Dudley (Dolly) Snow of Waukegan, Illinois. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces & nephews. Millie was preceded in death by three husbands, Dudley Snow Sr., Ernie Alm, Ted Forrest; and two daughters, Naomi Jensen and Ruth Lanteigne. Millie went to a Culinary School in Hawaii in 1956 before going to work at Brook Lodge in Augusta, specializing in seafood and Hors d'oeuvres, retiring after 22 years. Millie was a life-member of the Augusta VFW Auxiliary Post #7956 and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #298, Battle Creek. Graveside services to celebrate Millie's life will be held 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Pastor Scott Bouldrey of the Augusta Fellowship United Methodist Church, officiating.
