Wisser, Michael Allen Portage Michael Allen Wisser went home to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Glenn Arbor Hospice House surrounded by his loving wife and family members. Michael was born on December 12, 1946, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Donald and Ruth (Klein) Wisser. He was united in marriage to his best friend, Barbara Flannagin Williams, on August 28, 1999, at St. Mary's Church. Mike loved God and his family. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends talking and playing games. Cars were a life-long passion for Mike. He liked working on them, admiring them at car shows, and attending local stock car and drag races. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan. He had a keen sense of humor and delighted in telling jokes and teasing his loved ones. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mike was a hard worker and gave his all to every project. He was employed at Beach Products (Design Ware) for many years and retired from ETNA Plumbing Supply. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Wisser; and step-son, Roger Williams. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife and caregiver, Barbara, and family members including his step-daughters, Debbie Thomasma and Vicky (George) Oberthaler; grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Williams, Steve (Carrie) Williams, Jessica (Kenny) Blasius, Jennifer Garrison, and Jordan Oberthaler; great-grandchildren, Amber, Andrew, Paige, Gavin, Kylie, and Graham; sister-in-law, Ann Wisser (Ron Lester); brother, Richard (Marja) Wisser; and sisters, Jane (Joseph) Runza, Joyce (Marsh) Draper, and Judy (Jeffrey) Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, March 5 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre in Portage. Friends may meet the family from 6-8pm Monday, March 4 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre and from 10:00-11:00am Tuesday prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery North on Drake Rd. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the charity of your choice.
