Michael Wenzler

Mike age 62, of Richland, died September 7, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Mike was born December 29, 1954 in Battle Creek, to Arley and Doris (Kelley) Wenzler. Mike graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1973 and married the former Cindy L. Hunter on May 20, 1978. Mike was a master mechanic and an expert in all things automotive. He worked for many area dealerships and auto repair shops, and for the past 20 years has owned and operated D&H Automotive in Battle Creek. Mike was an avid race car driver and builder. He was an active member of the National Hot Rod Association and the International Hot Rod Association. Mike was just as knowledgeable in music, home construction, and boating; spending many years boating on Gull Lake and Lake Michigan with his family and friends. Mike is survived by his wife Cindy, a daughter, Mara (Brad) Russell of Cincinnati, OH, a son Brett (Karlie Bowman) Wenzler, of Battle Creek, a grandson, Jaxon Wenzler and granddaughter Russell. Sisters, Sandra (Robert) Cayton of Bellevue, MI, and Linda (Jack) Fletcher of Richland, MI. and a brother, Arley (Sydney) Wenzler, of Battle Creek, brother in law, Jerry Parks. Mike was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Anna Russell, and a sister, Patricia Parks, both in 2015. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday , September 22, 2017 at the Grace Spring Bible Church, 8643 Gull Road, Richland. A memorial service and celebration of Mike's life and love of music, boats, and cars will begin at 11:00am at the church. Memorials may be given in Mike's memory to the American Cancer Society.
