Michael Oldenburg

Age 64, passed way on Sunday, March 19, 2017, quietly in his sleep when he finally lost his hard fought battle to recover from the heart and three strokes he suffered in his sleep on July 31, 2015. Mike was born in Three Rivers Hospital. He graduated from Constantine High School in 1971. After high school he attended Glen Oaks Community College. He married his wife, Laura, in 1997. He is preceded in death by his father, Duane Oldenburg and his mother, Lillah Oldenburg. Mike is survived by his wife, Laura Oldenburg (Verity) of Portage; his brothers, David Oldenburg of Portage, Terry Oldenburg (Susan) of Granger, IN, Robin Oldenburg (Tammy) of Granger, IN; nephew, Matthew Oldenburg (Jackie) of Alexandria, VA; niece, Amy Oldenburg Whitaker (Zachary) of Vandalia, MI; and grand-niece, Hadlee Whitaker of Vandalia, MI. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2 PM in the Portage Senior Center, 320 Library Lane in Portage. Mike was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Laura. He shared a close bond with his three brothers. He was a strong and energetic man until he fell ill. He loved music, animals and children. He was always willing to help, whether plowing a neighbors driveway in the winter or rescuing co-workers' cars from a flooded parking lot. Mike would go above and beyond when it came to helping people. Mike will be missed by the people around him. The angels have him now. He will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten.
