Surrounded by his loving family, Michael “Mike” J. Schneider, age 95, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at his residence. Mike was born in Racine, November 15, 1919, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Nee: Wallner) Schneider.

Mike attended St. John Nepomuk Catholic School and William Horlick High School. During World War II he proudly served in the United States Army in the Asian and European Theatres. On May 30, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Caroline R. Stanek. Mike began his working career at the Railway Express, then Western Printing for thirty-two years, retiring from J & F Auto Glass in 2011. Mike was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and Western Publishing’s 50/50 Club. An avid fisherman, Mike also enjoyed vacationing in Hayward, and trips to the casino. He loved and devoted his life to his family, and especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Caroline; his children, Linda (Thomas) Boldus, Brian Schneider, Kent (Jean) Schneider, Mary (Mike) Stevens; his grandchildren, Heather (Jon) Trudeau, Eric (Kaylan) Boldus, Michael Schneider, Alyssa Schneider, Kyle Schneider, Grant Stevens, Sally Stevens, Joseph Stevens, Emily Stevens; his four great-grandchildren, Cody and Sophia Boldus, Richard and Carson Trudeau; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Waltenberger, Ramona Petersen, William Stanek, James (Cathy) Stanek, Winifred (James) Hill; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 2, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green Street. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:00 A.M.
