Michael Lynn Zaic

Michael L. Zaic- 68, born April 30, 1947 (Binghamton, NY)

passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family

on September 23, 2015. Michael was married with two daughters

Elisha Marie Salas (Binghamton), and April Zaic/Green (Binghamton).

Michael was predeceased by his younger brother David J. Zaic, Binghamton

(deceased 1986), father Lester S. Zaic, Binghamton (deceased 2006), and

mother Henrietta O. Zaic, Binghamton (deceased 2011). Michael is survived by

his wife Sue Wilkerson/Zaic (Traverse City, MI), his brother Mark Zaic

(Traverse City, MI), niece Brittney L. Zaic (Traverse City, MI), daughter of Mark

Zaic, also several cousins and many lifelong friends.

Michael was a Special Forces Vietnam Combat Veteran. He spent six years of

active combat duty in Vietnam with the US Navy and is a member of the

American Legion Post 80, Binghamton. He belonged to several veteran related groups

including the VFW, AML and volunteered often to help less fortunate veterans.

Michael was good friend, always willing to sacrifice for others and had a big heart.

He will be remembered for his fun-loving personality and respected for being a

friend to those in need. A Military Honors Ceremony will be held at 1:30 pm

on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Vestal Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
