Michael J. Harrington, age 71, passed away on Monday April 6, 2015. Michael was born August 6, 1943 in Beloit, WI, the third son of Everett and Lucille Harrington.

Michael graduated from Beloit Catholic High School in 1961 and UW-Madison in 1965. He loved sports and excelled in them, being named all state end in football his senior year. He then served his country in the US Army from 1965-1968. He attended the US Army Language School in Monterey, CA learning Korean before finishing his tour in South Korea. He then started his career in International Business, specifically Asia and the Middle East. In addition to Korea, he lived in Tehran, Greece and Singapore. He spent a lot of time in China in the early 1980s when business was beginning to open up there.

On August 31, 1974, he married Susan Walsh at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Racine.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Sue; children, Kate (Andrew) Murphy of Imperial, MO, Greg (Meara) Harrington of Wenatchee, WA; grandchildren, Keegan and Ashlin Murphy, Cera Hebel; brother, Bob (Kathy) Harrington; sister-in-law, Nancy Harrington; brother-in-law, Dennis Walsh; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Terrance Harrington on April 2, 2015 and in-laws, Eugene and Hildegard Walsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St, Monday April 13, 2015, 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Steven Varghese officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Dizadji, Dr. Gullberg and all his other doctors at WFHC for their compassionate and thoughtful care.
