Michael E. Wright, 52, was called home suddenly, during the morning hours of March 23, 2011. He was born September 20, 1958 in Warren, OH the son of Elmore Charles Wright and Betty Jean Ziegler. After re-dedicating his life back to God, Michael was ecstatic when he became a bus driver for the Bus/Transportation Ministry for the First Salem Missionary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Battle Creek Central, Class of 1976, and played the Baritone in the Marching Band. He was active in the A Cappella Choir, the DECA Club and was Co-Captain for various sports. He was a past president for the Band Boosters and for the Battle Creek Housing Commission Tenant Association. Michael enjoyed fishing and cooking. He loved to work and never missed a day. His passion was driving semi-trucks and he was very determined to get his CDL license. He worked for various trucking companies throughout his years and even obtained his CDL License through trucking school. He worked for the Sonneveldt Company in Grand Rapids, MI, Tokai Rica, the Veteran Administrations Hospital (Kitchen), Head Prep Cook for Red Lobster, Speedway, and for the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Coldwater, MI, until he got hurt on the job in the year 2000. He is survived by his son, Andrew Michael Page; sisters, Renee Hart of Battle Creek, MI, Judith Jones of Warren, OH, Patricia "Patty" Shavers of Dayton, OH; brothers, James E. Ziegler of Louisville, KY, and Charles Lynn Teague of Cleveland, OH; nieces, Shatia F. Bentley (Nariyah Wingfield) and Shanee C-N. Wright (Lavell DeMichael Wilson) of Battle Creek, MI; a host of Great and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews; his favorite pet rabbit, (Sexy B); special friend, Sheila Morris and Brother-In-Law, Derrick Joseph Hart of Battle Creek, MI; Best Friends, Janice/Oliver D.W. Fields III and Lee Arthur Davis; an knew a host of many, many people and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Grandmother, Gussie Mae Cunningham of Opelika, AL; Sisters, Elizabeth Freeman and Josie Jones of Ohio; and several Aunts and Uncles. Visitation will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 12 Noon, at the First Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Craig A. Tatum officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to the Family.
