Maxine Shirley Zwiers, 90 of Holland left her earthly home for her Heavenly home on Sunday, February 28, 2016.

She joins her parents Gerrit and Margaret Veurink, husband John Herman (Jack) Zwiers, daughter Lorri Yonker, brother, Warren Veurink, several unborn grandchildren and great- great grandchildren along with many friends and family.

Maxine was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend. She was a member of Central Park Reformed Church and had been active in choir, women’s guild and Bible studies for many years. The Park Township Fire Department was a huge part of both Maxine’s and Jack’s lives. Jack was the fire chief and Maxine was the secretary for both stations 1 and 2 for 30 years.

Maxine is survived by her children: Chuck and Jane Zwiers of Holland, and their children Jenn and Matt Koning, Kim and Josh Rumpsa, John and Sarah Zwiers; Jim and Sandy Zwiers of Hudsonville and their children, Michael and Nicole Zwiers, Shawn and Katie Zwiers, Brian and Alycia Zwiers; Steve and Michele Yonker of Spring Lake and their children David and Rebecca Yonker, Pete and Dawn Yonker, Chelsea Van Allsburg; sister Barb and Arvin Wester of Lynden, WA; sister-in-law, Lorene Veurink of Holland and brother-in-law, Robert (Arlyne) Zwiers Sr. of Holland. She was also much loved by her 28 great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 3-5 at Central Park Reformed Church, 614 Myrtle Ave., Holland.

Funeral service will be held Monday March 7, 11:00 AM also at the church with Rev. Kevin Kleinheksel officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
