Maxine McPhilamy

McPhilamy, Maxine T. Died March 3, 2017 at Maplewood Assisted Living, Marshall, MI. Maxine was born March 15, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI, a daughter of Ignatius and Julia (Kozak) Permoda. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church for many years and also a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She was united in marriage on May 29, 1954 to Thomas F. McPhilamy, who preceded her in death on November 28, 2009. Surviving are five children, Michael (Gayle) McPhilamy, Joan McPhilamy, Margaret (Michael) Lanham, Kathleen (Mark) Oerther and Charles (Sheila) McPhilamy; several grand and great grandchildren; and brother, Gus (Nancy) Permoda; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Rita Permoda, Frances Schappa; and brother, Herman Permoda. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 7th at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre Ave., Portage, MI with Fr. Stanley Witek, Celebrant. Friends may meet the family at the church beginning at 10:00 am prior to the funeral Mass. Immediately following the Funeral Mass burial will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
