Max Carl Weathers, 91 of Traverse City died, Saturday, May 17, 2015.

He was born on July 6, 1923 in Traverse City the son of Franklin and Martha (Aeschliman) Weathers.

Max was a machinist with Traverse City Iron Works and retired when they closed. He enjoyed woodworking and building birdhouses. Max made special woodworking items for his children and grandchildren. He loved to watch the sunset with his wife while living on the lake. Max enjoyed dancing, hunting, snowmobiling and anything he could do outdoors.

Max is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dorothy (Anstett) Weathers; they were married on January 1, 1944 in Traverse City; his children, Sharon Lehn, Doug (Cheryl) Weathers, Pam (Ron) Fasel and Jan (Rich) Barrett all of Traverse City; grandchildren, Lisa, Debbie, John, Daryl, Joyce, Ronnie, Ronda, Kelly, Kris, Lindsay and Dustin; 24 great-grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Kellogg, Ed Weathers and Frank (Linda) Weathers all of Traverse City.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Weathers and brother's and sister's; son-in-law, Richard Lehn and great-grandson, Matthew Ulatowski.

An informal gathering and memorial luncheon will be held from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Traverse City Nazarene Church, 1023 S. Division St.
