Sowers, Mary Klos 1/2/1954 - 5/31/2017 Kalamazoo, MI Mary Klos Sowers, 63, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, May 31, after a long illness. The Memorial Service to honor her life will be held at 2pm, Friday, June 9 at the Kalamazoo Seventh-day Adventist Church officiated by Pastor Dan Ferraz, 1601 Nichols Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49006. Born in St. Joseph, Michigan, Mary attended St. Joseph High School and graduated from The Emma Willard School in Troy, New York, in 1973, where she blossomed as a writer and community activist. She attended the University of Michigan and worked as an investigative journalist, always seeking truth. Throughout her life, Mary consistently bounced back from many serious health conditions over the decades. She passionately explored legitimate treatments that supported natural health, extending her own life. Nicknamed "an exceptional patient" by her doctors and "MD-Miracle Daughter" by family and friends, she was always smiling and never complained. Mary credited her boundless faith in God for her numerous recoveries. Mary dedicated her life to serving and advocating for those with serious health issues, organizing support groups for the terminally ill, sufferers of depression, and teaching lifestyle & wellness classes. Her extensive practical knowledge, persistence and compassion brought joy, hope and healing to many lives through her extensive ministries, corporate classes, volunteer work and others. Mary is survived by her husband Keith Sowers, with whom she was happily wed for 35 years and raised 6 amazing children. She is also survived by her mother and 4 siblings, along with a niece and 3 nephews.
