Surrounded by her loving family, Mary Ayala, age 90, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Mary was raised in Eagle Pass, Texas and was the daughter of the late Jesus and Maria (Nee: Samanego) Sanchez.

On May 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Ezequiel E. Ayala who preceded her in death December 2, 1989.

Mary was a great cook. She especially loved Sunday family dinners and family game night and in her younger years she enjoyed her time working with the Headstart program. She was also a big fan of Badger and Packer football.

Mary was truly a beautiful kind person loved by many.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Juan (Nancy) Ayala, Lucy (Patrick) Sullivan, Daniel (Leslie) Ayala, Linda Ayala, Angie (Rick) Peterson, Jesse (Laura) Ayala.

Grandchildren, Tracie (Bridget) Hauserman, Juan (Kelly) Ayala, Jason Harrington, Ellie Harrington, Greg Sullivan, Audra (Dustin Andersen) Sullivan, Daniel, Nick, Suzie, Deanna, Jenna Ayala (Bryce Hansche), Parrish Peterson, Anthony, Jesse (Glenn Cohen), Allyssa (Ben Cruse), Angela, Alex, Jake Ayala.

Great-grandchildren Harrison Hauserman, Mira, Spencer Harrington, Logan, Arabella Andersen, Kasey, Arianna, Vallarie Peterson.

Brothers Tony, Joe (Elida) Sanchez

Sisters Esperanza Rodriguez, Connie Valdez, Josie Rodriguez.

She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and other friends and family.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank, Jesse Sanchez and daughter-in-law Rita Ayala.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 25, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie Street, with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:30 to 7:00pm and Thursday at the church from 9:30 until time of Mass at 10:00am.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Papp and his nurses Julie and Cheryl, Dr. Joseph Mathew and his nurse Shelby and Carmen for the many years of tender care they provided to our Mom. Also a special thanks to her neighbors the Hauge family.

Thank you Mom for the joy and happiness you gave us every day. After 27 years, you are back in Dad’s arms.
