Mary Louise Kruger, age 66, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016. She was born on February 18, 1950 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Robert and Agnes (Donaldson) Grant. She received her bachelor's degree from Wayne State University. Mary moved to Kalamazoo in the 1990s where she worked as a Geriatric Psychiatric Music Therapist at the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital for over 26 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church where she was active in mission projects and was co-author of the first contemporary hymnal for the church. Mary was a member of the Kalamazoo Singers and earned her certificate as a Master Gardener. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband John Trolly, two brothers, Richard and George Grant; a sister-in-law, Carol Grant, a niece, Linda Zuilkowski and in-laws, Rev. Frank and Esther Kruger. On May 26, 2007 Mary married Lauren F. Kruger who survives. Also surviving are four brothers, Donald (Shirley) Grant, James (Judy) Grant, Larry Grant and Raymond (Jeannine) Grant; two sisters-in-law, Valerie Grant and Gerry Grant; a brother-in-law, Captain Wayne (CWO4 Becky) Kruger USN (Ret); 17 nieces and nephews, Fran (Danny) Murphy, Tina (Patrick) Collings, Carrie Grant, Cath (Steve) Allen, Suzie (Ed) Dowell, Jim Grant, Debbie (Gary) Williams, Gail Bohnwagoner, Kenny Bohnwagoner, Joe Grant, Terrie Grant, Amanda (Mark) Zabkiewicz, Thomas Grant, Louis Senia-Grant, Danny Grant, Samantha Grant and Allison (Kruger) & Dr. Ryan Churchill. Visitation will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. on Thursday, August 4th from 5 to 7PM. Services will be held at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 7211 Oakland Dr. on Friday August 5th at 11AM with Pastor Jason Tomlin officiating. Mary's family will receive guests at the church beginning at 10AM and again following the service. Burial in Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park in Livonia will take place at 11AM on Saturday August 6th. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to the Kalamazoo Singers or the St. Michael Lutheran Church Mission Fund.
