Mary passed away in her sleep on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the age of 99. She was born on May 30, 1918 in Chicago, IL. She is the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Demi. Mary graduated from Covert high school in Michigan. She loved animals, wild life and had beautiful flower gardens her entire lifetime. Her hobbies were being involved in Girl Scouts and school activities, she enjoyed taking walks, reading, crocheting, and knitting. You'd often times find her at her sewing machine. On July 28, 1936 Mary was united in marriage to Robert Juneman, who preceded her in death on December 20, 2003. Mary and Bob's hobbies were being in card clubs and dancing at the VFW in Portage. They were active in the Portage Senior Center. They also traveled the world and vacationed in Florida during the winters. They spent summers enjoying their cottage with their children and grand-children joining them for fishing and boating. Mary was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Demi. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Borr of Portage, MI and Nancy (Chuck) Engelbrecht of Canton, MI; four grandchildren, Nancy Ann Blain of Portage, Brian Borr of Battle Creek, Christine Skavery and Colleen Engelbrecht, both of Canton; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Borden, Jacob Skavery and Samantha Skavery; and a sister-in-law, Grace Demi and her son Craig. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 Wednesday morning, November 8 at St. Monica Catholic Church, 4408 S. Westnedge Ave., where the family will receive guests beginning at 9:00. Private burial in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South will follow services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.
