Mary Jones Griffith, 86, of Greenville passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Ayden Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Shue officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will follow the service at Whaley Family Cemetery. She was born in Comfort, graduated from Comfort High School and married Charles F. Griffith. Shortly after, moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan where she was a homemaker, real estate broker and owner of King Realty. In 1976 she and her husband retired back to North Carolina. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, gospel music and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Jones and Everett Jones; husband, Charles Griffith; sister, Minnie Ruth Jones; brothers, Ivy Jones, Ralph Jones, Alvin Jones and Larry Jones. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Griffith Whaley and husband Ricky, Diana Griffith Mills and husband Randy; sons Walter Griffith and wife Fleeta, Charles Griffith and wife Derin; grandchildren Ashley Buck and husband Josh, Tyler Whaley, Todd Whaley, Tony Mills and wife Amanda, Blake Mills and wife Michelle, Forrest Griffith and wife Ellie, Claire Griffith, Austin Griffith, Everett Griffith and Reid Griffith; great grandchildren Marley Ortman, Aven Mills, Kayden Griffith, Emma Kate Mills and Wallace Buck; sister Beatrice Pike; sister-in-laws Rika Griffith, Jennette Jones, Kathy Jones and Doris Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to International Essential Tremor Foundation, P.O. 14005 Lenexa, Kansas 66214.
