Mary Ellen Beers

Mary Ellen was born in Beckly West Virginia to the parents of Robert and Lois (Jessup) Hurley on July 25th, 1946 and entered into eternity with her Lord Jesus Christ on September 23rd, 2018. Mary Ellen was raised in Lincolnton, North Carolina and after all these years still considered North Carolina home. Mary Ellen resided in Vicksburg Michigan with her husband, of 40 years, Ric Beers. In her mid 50's Mary Ellen decided to complete her Associates degree @ KVCC and then went on to Spring Arbor University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Family Life Education (Social Work), Where she had the oppottunity to work in that field and very much enjoyed. Mary Ellen touched many lives, too many to mention here. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her sister, Barbara Feathersone (and huband Daniel Featherstone) of Boone, NC, Two sons, Samuel Paul Stevens (and Wife, Michelle Stevens) of Heath, OH (53years old) and John Simon Stevens of Talkeetna, AK (46 years old) and also two grandchildren, Allissa (Stevens) Hammack of Columbus, OH and Evan Stevens of Heath, OH and nieces and a nephew in North Carolina and many cousins in West Virginia. Funeral service will be held 11AM Thursday Sept. 27, 2018 at the Avink Funeral Home in Schoolcraft. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11AM. Burial will be at Mt. Ever Rest Cemetery in Kalamazoo.
