Mary Chipps

Mary Joyce (Maltby) Chipps, age 82, passed away on August 25, 2016, in Holland, MI. Born on October 14, 1933, to Mr. & Mrs. Van C. Maltby, she graduated from State High and then Western Michigan University. She married Ronald Chips, on August 9, 1958. Mary taught elementary school in Kalamazoo and Ann Arbor Public Schools and tutored at the SLD Center in Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her husband Ron, in 2002, brother Charles Maltby, and sister Jeanne Fahrenbach. Mary is survived by her daughter Anne C. (Dennis) Brinker of Douglas, MI, son William M. (Alison) Chipps of Chicago, IL, her precious granddaughter Adeline Mays Chipps of Chicago, IL, brother in law Carl Fahrenbach of Kalamazoo, MI, sisters in law Katie Maltby and Sally Mann, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, September 2, 2016, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 W. Lovell St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007, with a reception to follow at the Beacon Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Wild Dog Rescue", 2525 Blue Star Hwy, Fennville, MI 49408. Lakeshore Memorial Services.
