Mary Brown

Mary Elizabeth Brown, age 89, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Mary was born in Hannibal, MO on November 27, 1926, the daughter of the late George and Ona (Bocker) Harbar. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who loved to spend time with family. She was married to John Brown on November 20, 1946; he preceded her in death on April 18, 2008. Mary is survived by four children, Sandra Brown, John Brown Jr., David Brown and Susan (Curtis) Clemens; eleven grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd (Joyce) Harbar; one sister-in-law, Gracie Harbar; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, George Harbar and one sister, Betty Tompkins. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, May 2nd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., where a Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Great Lakes Hospice, 900 Cooper St., Jackson, MI 49202-3398.
