Mary Ann Fucilla Waisman, age 74, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Baton Rouge, LA, the result of an automobile accident. She was born in Racine, August 6, 1941, daughter of the late Gilbert and Rosemary (Nee: Olsen) Henken.

Mary Ann graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1959”. On August 19, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gary L. Fucilla and to this union came a daughter, Renee. Gary passed away on May 4, 1978. Mary Ann later married Ronald Waisman and then Milton Freidman, both deceased. She was a member of the prayer shawl group at Christ Church. She also belonged to “club” with her lifetime friends from Sacred Heart Grade School. Mary Ann loved to travel, bake, and eat out with family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting blankets, knitting, and making quilts. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Renée Fucilla Ristic and Dejan Ristic of Willow Springs, IL; her beloved grandchildren, Stella, Marijka, Mirenza, and Marko; her sister, Gloria (Tom) Tyson of Racine; nieces, Erin (Carl) Laehr, and Rebecca (Brad) Berres; grandnephew and grandniece, Tyson and Madelyn Laehr; cousins, Sallie (Terry) Dubinsky, and David (Judy) Heimes; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dianne M. Henken.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 23, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St. with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Garden Crypts, Kinzie Ave. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home, 2-5 P.M. and on Monday at the church, 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church have been suggested.
