Marlene Marie Weatherbee, age 84, of Holland died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland.

Marlene was born in Cleveland, OH on Feb. 12, 1932 and married Jack Weatherbee on Nov. 21, 1951. She was a surgical tech at North Ottawa Community Hospital in her earlier years and received her training at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. Marlene and her best friend Marian owned and operated M & M Craft Shop on Douglas Avenue in Holland. Marlene volunteered for the Welcome Wagon in Holland for 5 years. She was the bridge director of the Monday Duplicate Bridge group at Evergreen Commons for 26 years. Marlene achieved her Life Master of Bridge through the American Contract Bridge League. She enjoyed puttering around the house and spending time in her rose garden. She loved feeding the birds and squirrels and watching the deer in the backyard. Her favorite times were with her family, her cats and her beloved grand dog Zeke.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 1989, her parents John and Marie Perusek, daughter-in-law Susan Weatherbee in 2007, great grandson Andrew Curtis Garcia in 2006 and great granddaughter Misa Lauren Outen in 1997.

She is survived by her children: Curt and Diane Weatherbee of Hamilton, Mike and Mary Weatherbee of Holland and Lisa and Mitchell Cordero of Holland; grandchildren:Travis and Nikki Weatherbee, Melissa and Jack Rademaker, Zachary Weatherbee, Lissette and Jon Outen, Melanie and Teddy Blank, Jacalyn Cordero and Nicole Cordero; great grandchildren: Jonathan and Jocelyn Outen; Sister: Susan King of Grand Haven; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Moran Park Church, 163 West 22nd Street in Holland. Rev. Dave Roberts will be officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given Resthaven Care Center or Hospice of Holland. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Home – Mulder Chapel.
