Marlene Dee Koch, age 80, of Parchment, MI passed away Tuesday evening, May 19, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side. Marlene was born October 1, 1934 in Detroit, MI. On June 15, 1954 she was united in marriage to her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Jack Koch who preceded her in death on April 26, 2014. Marlene was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma who delighted in spending time with her family. She was an encouraging and loyal friend to many, remembering them with cards and phone calls. She served faithfully in various church and community groups, always willing to share with those in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Marlene is survived by her children, Susan (John) Chambers of Bloomington, Illinois, Jefferson (Karen) Koch of Parchment, Michigan, Laura Koch of Mesa, Arizona, Matthew Koch of Kalamazoo, Michigan; grandchildren, Natalie (Garrett) Coombs and Nicholas (Katlyn) Chambers, Kelly Alvey (Jordan), Zachary, Samuel, Maxwell and Noah Koch, Hunter (Lindsey), Ross and Cam Burrows; great grand-children, Amelia and Walter Alvey; sister and brother, Patricia (Mel) Nelson, Gary (Pat) Dodge; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 23 at Haven Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Rd with Pastor Lin Batts officiating. Friends may meet the family Friday evening, May 22 from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Haven Church or the West Michigan Cancer Center.
