Marlene K. Pater (Stapert), aged 77 of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, after a brief illness, at Sheldon Meadows. She was preceded in death by her brother, Milo Jacob Stapert. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gordon Pater; her sisters, Gertrude Holwerda and Pearl VanKuiken; many nieces, nephews and friends. Marlene worked as a legal secretary all her life. Private burial was held. A service to celebrate Marlene’s life will be held on Friday, August 19 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home – 2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW. Relatives and friends may meet her family at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service begins at 11:00 AM.
