Life Story / Obituary

Print

After a brave battle with cancer, Mark Harold Dressler of Traverse City passed away in his home surrounded by family on December 23, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Richard Dressler. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Mark attended St. Francis DeSales High School then left to attend college at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan. He was a key figure in the book industry, organizing the educational programs for the two largest literary trade shows in the world. A food and wine enthusiast, Mark was part-owner of a local wine shop, Bon Vin. Patrons often sought out Mark at the shop for his expertise in finding the perfect wine pairing for their meal. He was happiest when gathered over good food and wine with friends and family. Mark was an outdoor enthusiast and an avid cross-country skiier, cyclist and swimmer. Mark loved all animals, especially the beloved family dog, Bella. Surviving him are his daughters Jacqueline (Nishant) and Kristin, his mother Jeanette, his six siblings - Lynda (Eberhart), Lesley (Karl), John (Charmaine), Mary (Michael) Sally (Jerry), Joe (Colleen), and numerous nieces and nephews. In honor of Mark, there will be an informal celebration of his life on January 2, 2016 from 4-8 pm at Mission Table. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Heartland Hospice and Cherryland Humane Society. Condolences can be sent to Jacqueline and Kristin Dressler, P.O. Box 3409, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48103. Please visit Mark's webpage at www.lifestorytc.com to sign the guest book, share messages and more. The family chose Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City.
