Surrounded by his family, Mark D. Schinkowitch, age 53, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at home in Westfield, WI following a short battle with cancer. Mark was born in Racine, August 1, 1963, son of Donald F. and Joan M. (Nee: Herdt) Schinkowitch. He was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1981”. Mark proudly served in the United States Air Force for ten years and nine years in the Air Force Reserves. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, photographer and flea marketeer.

He will be dearly missed by his mother, Joan Schinkowitch; his brothers, Michael Schinkowitch, Matthew Schinkowitch, John (Tami) Schinkowitch, Paul (Mary) Schinkowitch, James (Rachel) Schinkowitch; his nephews and nieces, Aaron, Zachary (Rachel), Anthony, Sydney, Theresa, Emily, JJ, and Zoe; other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald F. Schinkowitch; sister-in-law, Heidi Schinkowitch; godmother, Carol Dose; grandparents, Alex and Marie Herdt and Louis and Idabelle Glodowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 2, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Friday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:00 A.M. Memorials to the family or to St. Richard Catholic Church have been suggested.

A special thank you to Mark’s caregivers at Heartland Hospice and at William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran’s Hospital of Madison for their loving and compassionate care.
