Ewert, Marilyn "Molly" Kalamazoo Marilyn passed away at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born on May 28, 1935 in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of the late Bernard and Bernice (Mulder) Potts and had been a lifelong area resident. Marilyn worked as the Mattawan Middle School librarian for 23 years before retiring. She was a lifelong member of the Portage Free Methodist Church and also a member of the Kalamazoo Downstreamers canoe club. On June 23, 1956 Marilyn married Robert W. Ewert who preceded her in death on April 18, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Ewert and her step-mother, Jane Potts. Surviving are three children and their spouses, Rev. Dr. Michael (Penny) Ewert of Vincennes, IN, Timothy (Jennie) Ewert of Beaverton, MI and Nancy (Tom) Wilson of Kalamazoo, MI; six grandchildren, Jordan Ewert, Jacob Ewert, Adriel (Pat) Lechner, Jarred Ewert, Devon Wilson and Isabella Wilson; two great-grandchildren, Cohen Ewert and Emelia Lechner; two sisters, Ruth (Butch) Boyd and Janet (Bill) Knapp; a brother, Bernard (Sue) Potts; a brother-in-law, Ralph (Helen) Ewert; a sister-in-law, Jean Bourner; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Sunday, November 20th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Services will be held at 1pm Monday, November 21st at Portage Free Methodist Church, 1715 W. Centre Avenue, with Pastor Chuck Connors officiating. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Texas Township will follow services. Memorials may be directed to the Portage Free Methodist Church, the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or The Salvation Army.
