Marilyn King

Marilyn J. King, 86, of Niles, passed away at her residence at Brentwood at Niles on Thursday, September 19, 2019. She was born on April 9, 1933 in Bloomingdale, Michigan to the late Frank and Olga (Holderman) Reed. In 1951 Marilyn married the true love of her life, Donald L. King at a ceremony in Bloomingdale. Marilyn and Donald raised two children, Gary and Jill. Marilyn worked for Upjohn Pharmaceuticals (currently Pfizer). Marilyn was a devoted member for many years to Lake Center Bible Church in Portage, Michigan, serving in various capacities. Marilyn and Donald loved to travel and especially enjoyed many trips to Hawaii. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald King; her sisters, Francis Harbolt and Margaret Reed. She is survived by her children, Gary (Julie) King of Niles and Jill (Patrick) Beatty of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. When Gary and Julie married Marilyn received three additional grandchildren into her life. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will remember her privately.
