Marilyn Cunningham

Marilyn Doris Cunningham, age 84, of Flower Mound, Texas. Funeral services for Marilyn a well-loved resident of Lawton will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Schoolcraft United Methodist Church, 342 N. Grand Street, Schoolcraft, MI. She will be buried next to her husband at Oak Grove Cemetery. Marilyn was born March 10, 1932 in Romeo, Michigan to Roy and Ellen Taylor. She was united in marriage to Dale E. Cunningham on June 25, 1955. He preceded her death in May 2000. They were married for 49 blissful years and had one daughter, Cherie Cunningham Neudeck. Marilyn passed away February 1, 2017 at her daughter's home. Marilyn received her teaching degree from Western Michigan University and worked as an elementary educator for 38 years in the Portage public school system. Her immense love and care for her students is a legacy she will leave behind forever. Mrs. Cunningham was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 475, the 8/40 Calhoun Co Salon 41, Bible Study Schoolcraft, Schoolcraft United Methodist Church, NEA-MEA retired teacher, and the WMU Alumni Association. Marilyn is survived by her daughter and spouse, Cherie (Jeff) Neudeck; 2 loving grandchildren, Taylor and Caitlyn; 2 sisters, Barbara (Roger) Dehn and Carol Jean (Ron). Her death was preceded by her brother, Roy Taylor. Marilyn will be remembered as a bright light to all who came to know her and her presence will be missed dearly among family, friends, and the community. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Aux, Poppy Fund, Schoolcraft United Methodist Church, or Honor Flight.
